Summer Vacation for Andhra Pradesh HC Begins Tomorrow
Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh High Court will be closed for its summer vacation starting Monday, May 15. The high court will resume functioning from June 12. During this period, the vacation bench will hold hearings on important matters. The vacation bench was constituted on the orders of Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra.
The vacation bench will conduct the hearings on important matters in two sessions. The first session will be held between May 16 and May 26 and the second session will be from May 27 to June 12. The Judges of vacation bench will hear habeas corpus petitions, pleas for anticipatory bail, bail applications if they are rejected by the Magistrates and sessions or additional sessions judges, and any other urgent matter with the permission of the Chief Justice.
The Judges of vacation bench are: Justices BS Bhanumathi and AV Ravindra Babu, and a single Bench of Justice G Ramakrishna Prasad. These judges will hold a hearing on May 18 and the petitioners will have to submit their pleas on May 16. Similarly, the next hearing will be held on June 1 and the pleas have to be filed by May 30. Another hearing will be conducted on June 8 and pleas have to be submitted before the vacation court on June 6.
