Srikakulam To Observe Total Lockdown Today
Srikakulam District authorities have officially announced a complete lockdown in the city on Sunday to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The district is being considered as a high-risk zone during the second wave.
The district has recorded 12,541 positive cases in just a span of 19 days between April 6 and 24. On an average, the total number of Covid cases in a day touched 660 which has raised alarm bells.

The district officials had already announced partial lockdown in Srikakulam city from Monday to Saturday as business units, shops and other establishments are allowed to run only till 6 pm and a complete lockdown has been declared on Sunday.
District Collector J Nivas appealed to the people not to neglect fever, cold, cough and other symptoms and urged them to get tested for Covid-19. He also asked them to follow Covid-19 protocols like wearing masks, using sanitisers and maintain social distance.
