Skill Scam Case: TDP Files House Motion Petition in AP High Court Seeking Naidu's Bail
Vijayawada: TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has filed a house motion petition in Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking an urgent hearing on his plea on Thursday. The lawyers who represent Naidu have told the court the Opposition leader had a cataract surgery to his left eye three months ago and now he’s to undergo the operation for right eye.
Naidu was arrested in the skill development scam case on September 9 and since then he’s lodged in Rajamahendravaram central prison. His judicial remand in the central prison will end on November 1.
In their petition, the counsels for Naidu have requested the court to allow the personal physicians of the TDP leader to treat him for skin allergy disease. It may be recalled here that a few weeks ago a medical team of doctors had conducted tests on Naidu and submitted their report to the jail authorities saying the Opposition leader has no underlying disease except for the skin allergy.
Meanwhile, the vacation bench of the high court will take up the hearing on his bail plea in the skill development scam case on Friday. Justice P Venkata Jyothirmai will likely conduct the proceedings tomorrow.
The TDP leader has also moved the Supreme Court challenging state high court’s September 22 order which refused to quash the FIR registered against him in the skill development scam case. The Naidu’s lawyers had arguments revolved around the Section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The apex court has reserved its judgment on Naidu’s Special Leave Petition (SLP) and may announce its verdict in the coming weeks.
