Bail Cancellation Petition By CID: SC Issues Notices To Chandrababu

 - Sakshi Post

Hearing on AP CID's Special Leave petition seeking the cancellation of Chandrababu Naidu's bail in connection to the skill development scam case, the Supreme Court postponed the next hearing to 11th December. Justices Bela Trivedi and Satishchandra Sharma asked both parties to refrain from making public comments on the Skill Development Scam case as the matter is subjudice. The Apex court, however, said the bail conditions earlier set by the High Court remain applicable.

The CID informed the Supreme Court that Naidu was already on an interim bail which has conditions. It said Naidu's interim bail was made "absolute" by the AP HC without any conditions.

The Supreme Court asked Naidu to follow the bail conditions (of interim bail) till the next hearing. It asked Naidu to file a counter against CID's petition by 8th December and stated that the next hearing would happen on 11th December.

As per the previous conditions, Chandrababu should not participate in any rallies or public meetings. This comes as a huge jolt to Naidu and the TDP. With this, Chandrababu and his party leaders are caught off-guard.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is likely to refer the Section 17A matter to a Constitutional Bench. More details are awaited.
