Amaravati, Dec 29: The year 2023 has witnessed a harmonious blend of education and modernity, shaping children into world-class students by restructuring the curriculum to meet contemporary needs. The introduction of tablets, Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs), English-medium instruction, International Baccalaureate (IB), and other advanced teaching modules has played a pivotal role in this transformation.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has redefined the concept of education, revolutionizing learning and teaching methods, garnering widespread acclaim across the country. In addition to consistently motivating students to pursue their academic interests, the Chief Minister has actively overseen the progress of system reform, including the digitalization of classrooms, school renovations under Nadu-Nedu, and the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and IB curricula in government educational institutions.

The Chief Minister has taken a multi-pronged approach to enhance Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) and reduce dropout rates in schools and colleges. This includes efforts to improve students' English communication skills and equip them with knowledge of emerging technologies, resulting in a tangible increase in GER from 84.48% in 2018 to 100.8% in 2023.

Transparent implementation of pro-educational welfare programs like Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Vasathi Deevena, Amma Vodi, Videshi Vidya Deevena, Goru Mudda, Vidya Kanuka, YSR Sampoorna Poshana, Nadu-Nedu, YSR Kalyanamasthu, and Shadi Tohfa has yielded positive results, making Nandyala the first district to achieve 100% enrollment. Statewide, 149,515 students have rejoined schools in 2023, a testament to the Chief Minister's vision.

The introduction of bilingual textbooks, praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and the inclusion of Ragi Malt in Jagananna Goru Mudda have resonated well with students. With the government allocating Rs. 3,746.82 crore for the second phase of Nadu-Nedu, the upcoming days will showcase government schools competing with corporate schools in terms of appearance and standards.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the US-based online teaching platform edX enables students to access 1800 emerging technology courses not covered in the school syllabus. This partnership allows students to earn certificates from renowned institutions like MIT and Harvard University. The government's commitment to introducing AI and IB curricula for school and college students aims to elevate their academic careers to a global level, aligning them with students in advanced countries.

The year 2023 witnessed the introduction of CBSE syllabus and English-medium instruction in schools, along with the distribution of bilingual textbooks. This resulted in 67 government school students securing seats in IITs, NITs, and other central universities. Additionally, 10 government school students from Andhra Pradesh represented the country in UNO-affiliated committee discussions in the USA.

Government school students are currently undergoing training in both basic and advanced versions of TOEFL. Starting next year, they will also have the opportunity to learn AI-related subjects and follow the IB curriculum, positioning them to become global citizens with knowledge of emerging technologies.

More than 87% of students in Classes III to IX have taken unit tests in English medium, surpassing the national average by more than double. With an investment exceeding Rs. 66,722 crore in educational reforms, Andhra Pradesh leads several states in the education sector, poised to set unprecedented standards in learning and teaching methods, and shape students into futuristic citizens.
