Polavaram: AP Govt Rectifying Past Regime Blunders To Realise Andhraites' Dreams
The YSRCP- government is slated to complete the Polavaram project on time as Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy put the prestigious irrigation project on priority from day one. The Polavaram works are progressing briskly by fixing the failures, shortcomings and irregularities of the earlier governments, the TDP rule, in particular. Dedication, commitment is visible in the workforce. A lot of difference in works execution compared to two years ago after the project was handed over to Megha Engineering, the same company which had completed the Kaleshwaram Project in Telangana.
Thousands of workforce’s skills combined with the most advanced machinery employed and expertise by the company has set the project rolling and ensured that the dreams were translated into reality. Thousands of transport vehicles and the sounds of machinery resounds. The site is getting ready to unveil one of the world’s wonder project soon. The execution of the Polavaram Project is seen competing with the tides of river Godavari in terms of quick work.
The past government had limited the project to just graphic illusions. However, the present YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has been showing the results for the past two years since they took charge.
The project site mirrors the work progress. The flash floods, Covid-19 lockdown has not halted the work. In fact, the project is progressing at a double speed, and with 24/7 work, the project shaped up to the reality as seen now. The execution agency MEIL and the government official’s coordination, completing the schedules above expectations.
Former chief minister Mr Chandrababu Naidu’ slogan “Every Monday Polavaram” (Somavaram Polavaram), was only writing on paper with no serious work done.
The present YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime is making all efforts to realise Andhraite’s lifeline project.
Although the state government is carrying out construction work, it is under the supervision of the Government of India. Even the smallest change in the work CWC has to take a call. With this, the volume of work has increased considerably with the reservoir safety and the optimal benefits of the project.
The state government has revised estimates because of the enhanced volume of work as per the Government of India’s changes and additions.
The revised cost increased to Rs.1,656 Crore as part of that. Meanwhile, as per reports irrigation and company officials are completing the old works before the schedule and executing the new works as soon as they are completed.
