"Pawan, Don't Lose These Seats"

West Godavari: Having faced a humiliating defeat in the 2019 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena Party (JSP) has now entered into a pre-poll alliance with the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP). Despite an alliance, the TDP is fighting hard to retain more seats. During the last elections, Jana Sena had tied up with Left parties and BSP and contested in over 130 of the 175 Assembly seats, however, it won only Razole assembly seat.

According to the political analysts, this time Jana Sena may not get more than 30 seats under the TDP-Jana Sena coalition. Meanwhile, senior Kapu leader Chegondi Harirama Jogaiah is pressurising Pawan Kalyan not to agree to the conditions of TDP ally. He has been writing open letters to the Jana Sena leadership and demanding that the party should not sacrifice its political aspirations at any cost.

In his latest letter, Jogaiah demanded that the TDP should give Assembly and Lok Sabha seats to its coalition partner Jana Sena in the regions where Kapu,Telaga and Balija communities are predominant. He wrote that Jana Sena should field its candidates from six Lok Sabha and 41 Assembly seats in the upcoming elections in the state. He has also suggested the probable candidates for the constituencies in undivided Godavari and Krishna districts.

Senior Kapu leader has insisted that Pawan Kalyan should not sacrifice these seats if he wishes to make a mark on the political map of Andhra Pradesh. He has even suggested the actor-turned-politician contest the Assembly elections from Bhimavaram and Narsapuram constituencies as he’s a greater chance of winning the elections from these segments. Jogaiah further suggested that the party should field Pawan Kalyan’s elder brother Nagababu from Tirupati seat.
