Nandyala: 2 Women Die, One Missing After Boat Capsizes In Owk Reservoir
Nandyala: A holiday trip turned tragic after a boat carrying twelve tourists capsized on Sunday, claiming the lives of two women, while one person went missing. The accident took place at Owk Reservoir in Nandyala district of Andhra Pradesh.
A family of 12 people who had come as tourists took a ride in the reservoir when the boat capsized. While one person drowned, the other died after being brought ashore and one more person went missing. Since the ones who were saved were wearing life jackets they managed to reach the shores. The police and rescue teams were immediately alerted and rushed to the spot. The survivors told the police that the boat capsized after water entered the boat leading to the tragedy.
A special branch police constable named Rasool from Kovelakuntla had brought his family members for a holiday. The deceased women have been identified as Ashabi and Noorjahan. The search operation for the missing person missing woman Shajeeda is still ongoing.
