Mid-April National Polls Date Creates Buzz Over AP Election Schedule

 - Sakshi Post

When will the assembly elections be held in Andhra Pradesh? Has the Election Commission of India (ECI) fixed the poll schedule for the Telugu state already? Did the ECI fix the election schedule after the visit of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, and two Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel to the state earlier this month?

Meanwhile, a circular from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer in Delhi, dated January 19, 2024 is widely being circulated on social media, indicating April 16, 2024, as a “poll date”. According to the circular, the Election Commission of India had "tentatively given the Poll Day as April 16, 2024” as part of the planner.

Election Commission may hold Andhra Pradesh Assembly election and 2024 Lok Sabha elections together. Earlier, chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had said that the elections in the state might come slightly earlier than expected. He had also said that the election schedule may be announced 20 days ahead of its original schedule compared to the previous elections.
