Is Lokesh Accepting That TDP's Game Is Over?

 - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: With no permanent relief from the courts for the party chief Chandrababu Naidu, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) seems to be staring at a leadership crisis. Following the arrest of Naidu in the multi-crore skill development scam case on September 9, his son Nara Lokesh took reins of the party.

Bypassing the many senior leaders in the party, Lokesh assumed the second-in-command in Naidu’s absence. He tried his best to hire country’s best lawyers like Sidharth Luthra and Harish Salve to fight his father’s case who is accused of misappropriating public funds and was sent to judicial remand in Rajahmundry central jail.

The arrest of Naidu and the APCID summons to Lokesh in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) alignment case, created a leadership void in the party. The Naidu family took things into their hands and ignored the senior leaders in the party. Naidu’s wife Bhuvaneswari and daughter-in-law and Lokesh’s wife Brahmani started calling the shots. However, they failed to impress the party leaders and workers.

Even though Naidu is out on a 4-week bail on medical grounds and his temporary bail is set to expire on November 28, the Telugu Desam Party is reeling under leadership issues.

Taking a jibe at the TDP leadership, the YSRCP MP V Vijayasai Reddy said what happened to the party? Have Lokesh and Bhuvaneswari accepted that the party lost its relevance in state politics?

In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Vijayasai said it is understood that Naidu is sick and battling a legal battle in the courts. But, what about his family members? Have they lost hope in the TDP?

The YSRCP MP took potshots at the opposition party and asked if the TDP leaders have lost confidence in the party and came to the conclusion that the party will meet a similar fate in Andhra Pradesh as it did in Telangana? Taking a jibe at Andhra BJP chief Purandewari, Vijayasai wondered if the TDP had entrusted the job of keeping TDP alive to Purandeswari. He also added that she may destroy her own party but it’s unlikely she will infuse life into her brother-in-law’s TDP.
