Krishna: Kuchipudi Resident Robbed of 17 Lakhs With Fake Job Promise
A woman techie from Kuchipudi village of Movva mandal in Krishna district was reportedly cheated of Rs 17 lakh by a fraudster on the pretext of offering a good job. The victim was identified as Lingamaneni Divya and she has been working as a software engineer in Bengaluru for the last two years. Going into the details, Divya forwarded her resume to another firm on April 12.
Srinivas Kiran Babu, a native of Kotikalapudi village in Addanki mandal somehow got her personal information from the resume of Divya. He contacted Divya and made friendship with her by changing his name to Pinnamaneni Sai Karthik Babu on social media. He told Divya that he is opening a firm and promised her a good job.
Divya who trusted the words of Sai Karthik deposited Rs. 10 lakh into his account on June 3 and after a few days, she transferred Rs. 7 lakh into his account. After receiving the money, the man was not reachable and on the other hand, he also switched off his mobile. Divya who realised that she was cheated lodged a complaint with the Addanki police station. Police filed a case and the investigation is underway to know what has happened actually. The police are trying to nab the accused.
