Kadapa Steel Plant Gets Environmental Clearance
In a major step towards setting up of Kadapa Steel plant, the Central Government has approved environmental clearances.
The state government has achieved environmental clearances in less than four months, after putting the proposal on December 20, 2020 to grant environmental clearances for Kadapa Steel Plant and sent amendments on January 29, 2021.
The State Government has attached a copy of the Environmental Impact Assessment to these proposals, and the EAC meetings on those proposals were held in December and February, which was very much favorable towards the government proposals and action plans. Finally, the board has given a comprehensive review of the proposals and approved them.
The State government has laid proposals to set up AP High Grade Steels Ltd. (steel plant) at Sunnapurallapalle and Peddananduluru villages, Kadapa district, which was aimed to produce three million metric tonnes per year, including 84.7 MW of electricity generation in the first phase.. Under green belt development on 34 percent, which is 484.4 hectares was allocated and 12,10,000 seedlings will be planted in five years.
