Jolt to Janasena: Pithani Joins YSRCP
Pithani Balakrishna, a former Jana Sena Party's Public Affairs Committee member, has resigned from the party. He announced his decision to reporters in Mummidivaram. Balakrishna had initially joined Jana Sena believing in its leader, Pawan Kalyan. In the 2019 elections, Kalyan had given Balakrishna a ticket to contest from the Mummidivaram assembly segment, but he faced defeat.
Despite the loss, Balakrishna had worked to strengthen Jana Sena Party's presence in the constituency. However, in the recent alliance between Jana Sena and Telugu Desam Party, the Mummidivaram constituency was allocated to the TDP. Balakrishna had requested Pawan Kalyan to provide him with a ticket from the Ramachandrapuram constituency, where his Settibalija community has a significant presence. However, Kalyan could not accommodate his request.
Expressing disappointment, Balakrishna stated that he would join the YSR Congress Party and work hard to ensure its victory in the upcoming elections.
