IB Syllabus will be Introduced in Class I in 2025: CM YS Jagan at India Today Education Summit 

Tirupati: Explaining about the reforms being carried out by the YSRCP government in the education sector, Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said his government has signed an agreement with International Baccalaureate (IB) and the first IB syllabus-driven batch of class 10 will be ready by 2035. 

Speaking at the India Today Education Summit here on Wednesday, CM YS Jagan said that the government plans to introduce IB syllabus in class I after June 2025 and it will introduce the American education system in government schools in a phased manner. 

The summit moderator and veteran journalist Rajdeep Sardesai expressed his astonishment when he was told that the YS Jagan government has distributed tabs to class 8 students in the government schools. Responding to Radeep’s queries, CM YS Jagan highlighted how the government changed the face of government schools through its Nadu-Nedu initiative. He also stated how the government has introduced digital learning across 40,000 classrooms in the government's schools in the state. 

When Rajdeep asked his response to the criticism over the introduction of English as a medium of instruction in government schools, the chief minister YS Jagan asked a counter question to those who criticise the education reforms. He said those who are opposing the English medium should also tell the people which school they are sending their children to study.

The YSRCP government has increased its spending on education to enable the children from underprivileged sections to get access to the quality education and the government sees it as an investment in the future.
