Husband Saved By Aarogyasri, Woman's Emotional Words About CM Jagan
Guntur: A resident of Gautam Nagar in Guntur, Paragati Subba Rao, has received life-saving cancer surgery free of cost, thanks to the YSR Aarogyasri scheme - the flagship health initiative of YS Jagan government which provides free quality hospital care below poverty line (BPL) families.
Subba Rao, a labourer, had to stop working after falling from a scaffolding at a construction site and breaking his leg. While he remained confined to home, he was diagnosed with stage-II mouth cancer a few years back.
With no income source, his wife Rohini was forced to work at a local function hall to make both ends meet. The couple, who had already married off their daughters, were unable to afford the costly treatment at a private hospital. They were informed that the treatment cost could go up to Rs 10 lakh.
Fortunately, ward volunteer Sambasiva Rao learned about Subba Rao's medical and financial conditions and offered to help him. He first enrolled Subba Rao under the YSR Aarogyasri scheme, a government health insurance program for the poor. This enabled Subba Rao to receive the necessary surgery at a private hospital, with all costs covered by the scheme.
Rohini, overcome with gratitude, expressed her thanks to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. "If my husband is alive today, it's only because of the YSR Aarogyasri scheme," she said. She further wished for YS Jagan to continue as the Chief Minister for the benefit of the people.
The government healthcare scheme YSR Aarogyasri is providing access to quality medical treatment for people like Subba Rao who otherwise cannot afford the costly treatment at corporate hospitals. YS Jagan government’s health initiative has been a lifeline for countless families in Andhra Pradesh.
