Guntur finds India’s richest MP candidate
Guntur: Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, TDP-JSP-BJP alliance candidate filed his nomination papers from Guntur Lok Sabha constituency on Monday. As per the declarations, the opposition MP candidate owns Rs 5,598.65 crore worth of movable assets and Rs 186.63 crore of immovable assets while his liabilities are Rs 1,038 crore.
According to the 2019 general elections affidavits, Ramesh Kumar Sharma ( Independent candidate from Bihar ) was India’s richest parliamentary candidate. He had declared assets worth Rs 1,107 crore. In comparison, Chandrasekhar is over 5 times richer than Sharma.
The opposition alliance has fielded Pemmasani Chandrasekhar as its MP candidate from Guntur. The TDP’s candidate is a NRI doctor who has now turned into an industrialist. Chandrasekhar, who hails from Burripalem village in Tenali constituency, is stated to be a known TDP supporter and was involved in various charity activities for the party over the last 10 years.
After completing his high school in Narasaraopet and MBBS from Osmania medical college, Hyderabad, Chandrasekhar moved to the US for higher studies. He has also worked as a faculty at John Hopkins university.
