Four Guntur Youth Go Missing In Quarry Pit

In a very tragic incident, four youth went missing in a quarry pit filled with rainwater. The incident took place near Boyapalem Diet College, Yadlapadu Mandal of Guntur district. Six youth from Prathipadu gathered near the quarry pit to celebrate a party on Sunday. The six youth have been identified as Yaswanth, Lambu Vamsi, Siddhamshetty Venkateshwarlu, Billa Sai Prakash, E Verashankara Reddy, and Hemanth Kumar. 

According to the police, friends asked Yaswanth to bring a water bottle from a shop near Boyapalem and four others - Lambu Vamsi, Siddhamshetty Venkateshwarlu, Billa Sai Prakash, E Verashankara Reddy went to wash their hands and legs near the quarry pit. Hemanth Kumar didn't go along with them. The four youth drowned in the quarry pit filled with rainwater. Hemanth Kumar went to the quarry pit and searched for his friends but all his efforts went in vain. Hemanth Kumar immediately informed the parents of the missing and the police. Guntur Urban SP K.Arif Hafeez, Revenue and Police officials immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operations.

Most of the quarries in the Guntur district are in the vicinity of Boyapalem, Chebrolu, and Perecherla. The officials said that it is not possible to estimate the dept of each quarry.
