Fact Sheet: Andhra’s Investments and Industries in Numbers
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has set the state on a path of industrial progress. During the last four and a half years, CM Jagan has launched 130 major projects and attracted substantial new investments totaling Rs 69,000 crore in the state. There were 193,530 MSMEs under the previous government, but 3.87 lakh new MSMEs have been established since YS Jagan became Chief Minister. This has resulted in 12.61 lakh new jobs. CM YS Jagan has also repaid Rs 1,586 crore of dues owed to MSMEs by the previous regime. Additionally, his government has provided Rs 2,087 crore in incentives to further support MSME growth in the state.
At the recent Global Investment Summit (GIS) held in Visakhapatnam, memorandums of understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 13.11 lakh crore were signed. These contracts, valued at Rs 386 crore, are expected to create 6 lakh new jobs in the state. While addressing the summit, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani also announced plans to invest Rs 50,000 crore in various projects across the state.
Despite robust industrial growth and influx of investments in Andhra Pradesh under YS Jagan government, the opposition parties are crying foul that the industries are winding up their projects in the state. They are consistently trying to mislead the people with false narratives.
