Disha App Should Be Used By Every Woman In AP: CM YS Jagan In Review Meeting On Women Welfare
AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed officials that the Disha Act should reach every household and every woman should utilize the Disha App in the State.
Speaking during a review meeting on the Disha App and the enforcement of the law held in the Assembly Chamber on Monday, he said that we must move forward with the slogan of welfare and safety of every women in the AP.
The Chief Minister will soon launch 163 Disha patrolling vehicles in troubled areas for crime prevention, along with 18 Disha mobile restrooms. He said that so far there have been 1.16 crore people have downloaded the Disha App.YS Jagan said that officials should reach out to women in distress in the shortest time possible when they click on the Disha App and offer a helping hand. Officials informed the Chief Minister that 92.7 percent of POCSO and rape cases have been filed so far.
Speaking further the Chief Minister said that every case that comes to the Disha Police Stations should also be monitored regularly from filing of complaint till conviction time. Officials should speak to the victims on regular basis and provide relief. Evidence should be collected in such a way that the conviction rate is increased, he said. This apart capacity building on Disha should be done through social media and daily reviews should be conducted to improve performance
The Village Volunteer system, Women Police should be involved in the enforcement of Disha law and a High-power Committee should review Disha every 15 days.
There should be no delay or sluggishness while handling calls coming through the Disha app under any circumstances. Strict action would be taken if such incidents occur, he warned. State DGP K Rajendranath Reddy, DIG Technical Services G Pala Raju and senior police officials were present in the review meeting.
