Did Mahasena Rajesh Buckle Under Pressure?
Konaseema: TDP-Jana Sena candidate Saripella Rajesh alias Mahasena Rajesh has dropped a bombshell by announcing his withdrawal from contesting the elections. The opposition alliance had fielded him from the P Gannavaram assembly constituency. Rajesh said given the current political development in the constituency, he has decided to withdraw from the contest.
Both the TDP and Jana Sena leaders were protesting the candidature of Rajesh from P Gannavaram segment. During the recent TDP-Jana Sena coordination meeting in Ambajipeta of Konaseema district, Jana Sena supporters had created a furore for giving a party ticket to Rajesh while demanding his removal as a candidate for the upcoming elections. The annoyed supporters had even smashed the windows of the car of TDP parliamentary incharge Harish Mathur.
TDP-Jana Sena’s decision to field Rajesh P Gannavaram assembly constituency had triggered protests from various quarters. Members of Brahmin Sangh staged a protest outside the TDP office in Visakhapatnam on Friday. They claimed that by giving a ticket to Rajesh, the TDP has insulted the Brahmin community.
In Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation also registered their protest against Rajesh who had allegedly made derogatory comments against the Brahmin women. A Brahmin association filed a complaint against Rajesh at Gokavaram police station in East Godavari district and demanded the police to take strict action against him.
