Nandyal: Following in the footsteps of the people's leader and his father, YS Rajasekhar Reddy, the current chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, has carved a niche for himself on the political canvas.

CM Jagan is a charismatic leader, who is continuously working to bring a positive change in the lives of the people of Andhra Pradesh. This trait of the chief minister has made him popular among the masses.

People line up with flowers in their hands when CM visits any place in the state. They welcome him with smiles and shower their blessings on him. CM Jagan has lakhs of admirers and supporters in the state. One such ardent admirer is 45-year-old Dudekula Kasim, who started wearing footwear again, after meeting his idol CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his Memantha Siddham bus yatra in Nandyal.

Kasim, a native of Kanala village in Nandyal district, had attended CM YS Jagan-led ‘Odarpu Yatra’ which he had taken out following the tragic demise of his father YS Rajasekhar Reddy. Kasim was so moved by the tragedy befallen the YSR family, he had taken a vow to go bare feet until YS Jagan became a chief minister of the state like his father.

He did not break his vow even though his idol took the oath as the chief minister of the state on May 30, 2019, Thursday. He was waiting for the moment to see CM Jagan in person. Finally, his prayers were answered and the golden moment came as he got to meet the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy during his bus yatra. The chief minister not only met Kasim but he also gave him a fresh pair of slippers so he can end his vow as his wish has already been fulfilled.
