CM YS Jagan Likely to Distribute Pattas in R-5 Zone to Poor Tomorrow
Guntur: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will likely distribute house site pattas to thousands of beneficiaries in the R-5 Zone of the Amaravati Capital Region on Thursday, May 18.
The state government had amended the APCRDA Act to provide house sites to the poor people. The GO enables the CRDA Commissioner to transfer 1,135 acres of land in Amaravati to the Collectors of Guntur and NTR districts. The R-5 zone in the capital region will be bounded by Krishnayapalem, Nidamarru, Kuragallu in Mangalagiri mandal, and Manddam and Ainavolu villages in Thullur mandal.
Nearly 50,000 beneficiaries from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) belonging to Guntur and NTR districts have been allotted plots under the R5 Zone. The authorities have expedited the works like construction of roads, clearance of bushes, plot marking and levelling of roads in all 20 layouts.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has refused to stay an order of the Andhra Pradesh High Court that had allowed the State government to allot house sites to nearly 50,000 poor families. The farmers and the TDP leaders had approached the top court challenging the High Court order on R-5 zone.
