CM YS Jagan to Disburse Rs 431 crore under Jagananna Thodu Scheme Today
Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch the eighth phase of the Jagananna Thodu scheme on Thursday. Under this scheme, the Andhra Pradesh government will deposit a total of Rs 431.58 crore directly in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries with a click of a button from his camp office.
The purpose of Jagananna Thodu scheme is to ensure that small-scale self-employed traders, who provide employment to one or two others without relying on outside help, do not fall prey to high interest rates.
Under this scheme, new interest-free loans totaling Rs 417.94 crore are being provided to 3,95,000 small and marginal traders and each beneficiary will receive an interest-free loan of Rs 10,000 per annum.
Jagananna Thodu scheme is aimed at small-scale, self-employed individuals who have 10x10 feet permanent or temporary spaces. Street vendors who sell goods, vegetables, fruits and food pushcarts, or have roadside tiffin centres or vendors who sell products on motorcycles and auto rickshaws are eligible for this scheme.
