CM Jagan Talks Tough On Geethanjali Case, Says Won't Spare Perpetrators

Also Announces Ex-Gratia of Rs 20 Lakh for Geethanjali's Family

In a resolute stance, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy today conveyed his profound dismay and heartfelt condolences on the tragic demise of Geetanjali, a resident of Tenali. Expressing his unwavering commitment to justice, he promptly instructed government authorities to extend an ex-gratia compensation of Rs 20 lakh and provide comprehensive assistance to Geetanjali's bereaved family. 

Furthermore, the Chief Minister underscored the government's unequivocal stance on safeguarding the honour and dignity of individuals, particularly women. He reiterated that those who transgress the boundaries of respect and decency will face the full force of the law.

Geetanjali's family has gone on record to say that she committed suicide following harassment / trolling / abuse and body shaming on social media by members of Opposition parties following her endorsement of CM Jagan’s good governance and welfare benefits
