 - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: In a significant development, the Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (APCID) has filed chargesheet against the former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati Inner Ring Road alignment case on Thursday.

The ACB officials have filed the chargesheet against Naidu and others at the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada. In May 2022, the CID had registered an FIR against Chandrababu Naidu, former municipal administration minister Dr P. Narayana, Heritage Foods Ltd, and others, for alleged irregularities in the construction of an internal ring road in Amaravati.

The Inner Ring Road scam case is related to manipulating the master plan of Amaravati capital city, alignment of Inner Ring Road and the seed capital to allegedly offer undue enrichment to several companies during Naidu's tenure as chief minister.

The probe agency has revealed that the state government was misled by the government-to-government (G2G) Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Singapore and the Government of Andhra Pradesh regarding the Amaravati Master Plan but the fact is no such G2G pact was made and the accused did not obtain the required approval from the Government of India for such pacts. The CID officials also found that a foreign Master Planner M/s Surbana Jurong was paid crores of rupees illegally as his fee.
