Chandrababu Naidu's Betrayal of Social Justice

 - Sakshi Post

Chandrababu Naidu, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has been criticized for his behaviour towards the Backward Classes (BCs) in the state.  He has been accused of severe injustice towards the BCs as evident in his seat allocation for the upcoming elections. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on the other hand has been praised for his efforts in promoting social justice.

During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) allotted 11 out of 20 on-reserve seats to BCs, while the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), led by Naidu, only allotted 6 seats to BCs out of 20 seats. This disparity in representation has led to concerns about Naidu's commitment to social justice.

Moreover, Naidu has been accused of allocating seats to his constituency in the most populous seats for BCs, further exacerbating the situation. His recent announcement of 4 Lok Sabha candidates also failed to allocate a single seat to the Kapus, one of the major BC communities in Andhra Pradesh.

In contrast, Jagan Mohan Reddy has been praised for his efforts in promoting social justice. He has allocated 50 percent of the seats to the weaker sections, including SCs, STs, and BCs, in the 2024 Lok Sabha and Assembly elections. This allocation reflects his commitment to ensuring representation for marginalized communities.

Furthermore, Jagan Mohan Reddy has maintained a social balance in candidate selection, giving priority to BCs and women. His actions have fulfilled the promise of his father, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, of taking one step forward for the backward communities and four more steps forward for their welfare. He has allocated 48 seats out of 175 assembly seats for BC candidates and 11 seats for BCs out of 25 Lok Sabha seats.
