ESI Scam: YSRCP Slams Chandrababu For Calling Atchannaidu Arrest A Kidnap
AMARAVATI: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Chief Chandrababu Naidu On Friday lifted curtains on a new drama immediately after Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Tekkali MLA Atchannaidu In a Rs 150 crore scam pertaining to Employees State Insurance (ESI) funds. Chandrababu Naidu tried to mislead the public by releasing a letter describing the arrest of his party MLA as a 'Kidnap' and trying to give a caste spin to the issue. Whatever was the motive behind this, Naidu's designs were short-lived as the ACB formally arrested the TDP MLA and even held a pressmeet giving a detailed account of the the scam that led to the arrest of five others besides Atchannaidu.
Even after the ACB has said that they have arrested TDP MLA after a thorough probe over the case, Chandrababu persisted with his false bogey of a kidnap by the police, leaving everyone in the state to wonder if he seriously meant what he said.
The TDP chief alleged that AP police had detained Atchannaidu on Thursday night while a team of ACB, accompanied by local police, arrested him on Friday morning at 7.30 AM.
Chandrababu said that the ACB officials took his party senior leader into custody at around 7.30 am on Thursday and arrested him at midnight.
Reacting sharply to Naidu's accusations, YSR Congress party MLA Roja lashed out the TDP chief and mocked him for not knowing the difference between a kidnap and an arrest, despite being a chief minister for three times.
Another YSRCP MLA Malladi Vishnu questioned Chandrababu's rationale in calling it a kidnap even after the ACB has arrested Atchannaidu right inside his Tekkali residence. He reminded the TDP chief that the ACB officials arrested TDP MLA for his involvement in the ESI scam.
Chandrababu has even tried to use the caste card in his letter just to divert the attention of the people from the massive scam, said Vishnu.
