CBSE Syllabus In AP Schools: Online Training Session For Govt Teachers, Check Details
AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh State government which has embarked on reforming the state education sector, has decided to adopt the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) syllabus from Class I to Class VII from the next academic year. The government plans to move Classes VIII to X to the CBSE syllabus by 2024.
The government has decided to introduce the CBSE pattern in a phased manner and as part of this the AP Samagra Shiksha has decided to conduct orientation programs for Primary School Teachers who will be handling Classes I to V on the CBSE model of teaching methodology and assessment procedures from 21st June to 3rd July 2021 through the DIKSHA online platform.
As part of this, CBSE will provide specialized training to teachers on the teaching of curriculum to enhance students' competencies to the highest standards. The government is taking steps to ensure that the trained teachers continue to teach CBSE to 1st to 5th class students in government schools and follow the evaluation methods.
The government conducts training programs for primary school teachers under the auspices of the State Institute of Educational Management and Training (SIEMAT) as part of the continuous professional development of teachers. Nearly 90,000 teachers in primary schools in the state will be a part of this training. Teachers will be encouraged to teach in English medium on CBSE teaching methodology and evaluation methods, in the context of the intention to implement the CBSEE policy in primary schools from this academic year.
The AP government has developed new textbooks based on NEP-2020 guiding principles and introduced them from the academic year 2020- 21. These textbooks are in English and Telugu mediums for students in government schools from Classes 1-6.

Teachers will be trained to teach the CBSE syllabus and the new textbooks designed by the state government will be activity-based and consist of practical learning to help the teachers understand the new syllabus and pedagogy.
Training Schedule
All the District Educational Officers and Additional Project Coordinators of Samagra Shiksha in the State are requested to issue instructions to all the Primary School Teachers handling Classes I to V under their jurisdiction to make use of the Orientation Training program scheduled to be held from 21st June to 3rd July 2021 through DIKSHA platform via online mode.
Teachers will have training on basic level English, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences.
The duration of this course, which is conducted through the Online Platform, is for 12 hours. It is conducted online and the duration of the training session is one hour per day for these 12 days.
Professors from NCERT-New Delhi, Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysore, and teaching staff of Kendriya Vidyalayas are the resource persons.
