Chandrababu Sold MLA Tickets: TDP Leader in Bheemili
Visakhapatnam: The discontent among the TDP’s rank and file over the party leaderships’ choice of candidates continues to grow. The TDP leadership announced former minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao as its candidate from Bheemili (Bheemunipatnam) assembly constituency on Friday.
TDP leadership had directed Srinivasa Rao to shift his political base from Visakhapatnam to Cheepurupalli. However, he remained adamant and the party leadership gave in to the pressure.
Meanwhile, dissidence in the party has erupted following the announcement of Srinivasa Rao from Bheemili seat. Bheemili TDP in-charge Korada Rajababu has criticised the ticket to Srinivasa Rao. Targeting the TDP’s Bheemili candidate, Rajababu alleged that the former minister was involved in several land-related irregularities and is also a bank loan defaulter.
Rajababu questioned the leadership for giving the Bheemili assembly ticket to an ‘outsider’ from Prakasam who stayed away from party activities for a period of over 4 years. He claimed that the party chief Chandrababu Naidu is auctioning the tickets to the highest bidder. The TDP in-charge further said the party has failed to give 40 percent seats to young leaders while Kapus were sidelined again.
