AU VC Lauds CM Jagan's Vision
AU Campus: As Andhra University approaches its Centenary Celebrations, it climbs to an another remarkable milestone. Nationally, Andhra University has been awarded an NAAC-A double plus grade. The evaluation took place on the 4th, 5th, and 6th of this month, with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) members thoroughly inspecting the entire campus and appreciating it with a double plus grade, which is 3.74 CGPA.
Vice Chancellor P V G D Prasad Reddy shared these details with reporters at the AU Academic Senate Mandir on Tuesday, emphasizing that this day will be recorded in golden letters in the 98-year history of Andhra University. Out of the universities in the country, only three have achieved a score exceeding 3.70, and Andhra University leads with a top score of 3.74.
Furthermore, Andhra University is the sole university with the highest score in the NIRF ranking within the top 100 positions in the overall category. The NAAC recognition will remain effective for seven years, extending until 2023.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted the potential benefits of this achievement, stating that Andhra University, with its top NAAC score, now has the opportunity to apply for the institute of eminence. This recognition will aid in establishing the university's campus in foreign countries and will significantly contribute to securing research funds. Andhra University has become a source of pride for the state, surpassing the CGPA of IISE Bangalore.
Acknowledging the foresight of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who emphasized the importance of chair professors during his visit to Andhra University in 2019, the Vice Chancellor noted the successful implementation of this idea in AU. Besides GMR and various companies, two foreign multinationals have appointed chair professors.
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister for implementing the idea and NACC appreciation, the Vice Chancellor informed about the National Youth Convention scheduled for January. This event will see the active participation of students, employees, and researchers in the NACC ranking.
Andhra University Rector K Samatha, Registrar M James Stephen, IQAC Coordinator D Lalitha Bhaskari, OSD V Krishnamohan, principals, deans, officers, and employees actively participated in the program.
