AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government extended the COVID-19 curfew till October 31, but has limited it to only five hours from now on.

This decision was taken keeping in mind the number of Coronavirus cases which has come down significantly.

Accordingly, the curfew will now be in force from 12 midnight to 5 AM only. So far the curfew hours were 11 PM to 6 AM.

The Andhra Pradesh government also eased restrictions on public gatherings, including marriages, permitting a maximum of 250 persons. Previously only 100 persons were permitted in such gatherings.

AP theatres to now run in full capacity from October 14th 

A piece of good news for theatre owners was also in the offing as the Government has now allowed cinema halls to now run at 100 percent capacity. The government has dispensed with the alternate seating arrangements (50 percent occupancy) issued in August. According to an order issued by Principal Secretary (Health) Anil Kumar Singhal, theatres will run in full capacity from October 14 but will follow Covid-19 Regulations which is still mandatory.
