AP Makes Telugu Compulsory in Schools: Details Inside

Amaravati: The state government of Andhra Pradesh has approved the implementation of education reforms to boost teaching levels in primary schools. Telugu has been made mandatory by the state government, with no option to study Hindi or Sanskrit. Andhra Pradesh will be the country's only state to produce textbooks in both English and Telugu.

Perni Venkatramaiah, Minister of Information and Public Relations said the cabinet approved the new education policy, which would be divided into six categories. Satellite foundation schools with PP-I, PP-II, first and second classes will be in the same building as foundation schools classes 1-5, pre-high schools classes 3-7, high schools from 3 to 10th, and high schools plus 3 to 12th courses will be in the same building as part of the policy.

School kits will be handed to students on August 16 as part of Jagananna Vidya Kanuka, according to the minister.
