AP Elections 2024: First List of TDP Candidates Out, No Chance for Seniors?
Guntur: The key opposition TDP on Saturday announced its first list of 94 candidates for upcoming Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. Names of Buddha Venkanna, former TDP chief Kimidi Kalavenkata Rao, former legislator Yarapathineni Srinivasa Rao and former minister Alapati Raja, former MLA Kommalapati Sridhar and Vetukuri Venkata Sivarama Raju were missing in the candidates list.
Earlier in the day, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan released the joint list of candidates for the upcoming polls. Jana Sena is fielding its candidates from 24 assembly seats in the polls. However, many seniors in the TDP camp are disappointed as their names did not figure in the list.
The party leaders in Vizianagaram Gajapathinagaram unit have expressed their displeasure after the party chief declared the names of candidates for forthcoming elections. The party’s decision to pick Kondapalli Srinivasa Rao as its candidate for Gajapathinagaram segment has left many wondering why the leadership ignored Dr KA Naidu for the polls.
It seems Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, who was aspiring a party ticket from Rajahmundry Rural, will miss the elections this time.
