AP Elections 2024: Is Chandrababu Afraid of Defeat in Kuppam?

 - Sakshi Post

Kuppam: The ruling YSRCP has conveyed its poll preparedness with the back-to-back Siddham rallies while the key opposition party TDP appears to be unprepared for the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneswari’s desire to replace her husband in the Assembly elections has kicked up a political storm. She made this comment during a Nijam Gelavali programme in Kuppam on Wednesday. The comment is being seen as indication of Naidu’s withdrawal from active politics.

Notably, Naidu is suffering from a medical condition and he was even released on bail on health grounds by the court. The former chief minister was arrested in the multi-crore AP skill development scam case and he spent 52 days in Rajahmundry central prison.

Bhuvaneswari’s comment to contest the upcoming elections from Kuppam assembly constituency is being viewed as a hint from Naidu who appears to be sending a message to the party cadre that he may not fight elections. Interestingly, she has not made such highly political remarks earlier.

Kuppam has been a native assembly constituency of Naidu for a long time but it remained backward. However, the constituency has made rapid development strides under YSRCP rule. The voters of Kuppam are happy that the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did not discriminate against Naidu’s constituency. The locals have expressed their support to the YSRCP in the upcoming polls and this is bothering The TDP leadership.
