AP COVID-19 Update June 4: 98 New Cases, Tally At 3,377

HYDERABAD: With 98 new cases in Andhra Pradesh, the positive cases in the state stood at 3,377 on Thursday.

A total of 9,986 samples in the state were tested in the last 24 hours, and 98 tested positive, according to the media bulletin issued by the State Command Control Room on Thursday morning.

The number of patients discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours stood at 29, taking the sum total to 2,273.

Three people have died due to the highly infectious disease, and the death toll in the state stood at 71. One each reported from Krishna, Guntur and Kurnool districts.

There are 1,033 active cases in the state.

The cumulative positive cases reported from foreign returnees stood at 119, while those from other states stood at 616, the bulletin read.

On Wednesday, the state recorded the highest single-day spike ever since the first case was registered with 180 new cases. In a good sign, the state has crossed the four lakh-mark in testing, with 4,03,747 samples being tested and the tests per million ratio has gone up to 7,561 and positivity rate is at 0.98 per cent.

The number of coronavirus cases in India rose to 2,16,919 after 9,304 people tested positive for the infection in 24 hours, according to the union health ministry update on Thursday morning. This is the biggest single-day increase in the number of cases. With 260 new deaths, India's toll reached 6,075.
