TDP-Janasena's Complaint: AP CEO's Response is a Blow to Oppn

 - Sakshi Post

Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Mukesh Kumar Meena has replied to the complaint filed by the TDP, Jana Sena and BJP over the alleged negligence of police during the opposition bloc’s first ‘Praja Galam’ public meeting addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Chilakaluripet on Sunday.

Alleging negligence on the part of police during the public meeting, the TDP leader Varla Ramaiah and BJP leader Pathuri Nagabhushanam met the Chief Electoral Officer and submitted a representation.

“Police failed to control the traffic . It seems they deliberately did this to ensure that the meeting ends in failure,” the representation stated.

Responding to the representation, CEO Meena said the security of the Prime Minister is not under the purview of the state police. He said the Prime Minister’s security is the sole domain of the Special Protection Group and the elite force handles it. He added that since the security does not come under the purview of the state election commission, therefore, he will not be able to take any disciplinary actions in this matter.
