AP Cabinet Nod For Resurvey Of Lands From Jan 1, 2021

‘YSR Jagananna Saswatha Bhoomi Hakku-Bhoomi Rakshana’ a comprehensive land survey will take off from January 1 and all sand reaches will be handed over to a single entity.

Briefing media after the cabinet meeting held here on Thursday, Agriculture Minister K Kannababu said the land survey and sand policy were approved by the cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

In order to provide permanent land ownership, every inch of the land in the State will be resurveyed using the latest technology like a drones, with 4500 survey teams and 15,000 surveyors with an estimated expenditure of about Rs 1000 crore. The State would mark the boundaries, issue  passbooks to landowners, and further set up a mobile court to resolve the land disputes on the spot.Such a survey is overdue and will be held in the state after a gap of over 100 years.

Under the new sand policy, auctions will be limited for the sand reaches and assign them to central public undertakings first and incase if they don't come forward, then to private entities through open tenders. The users can directly go to the reaches  and transport sand using their own vehicles without any additional cost. The tenders have been sorted into three groups with three districts in each group, where separate tenders will be called for each group. The government shall fix the prices for buying at the reach and for door delivery based on the distance while sand can be booked on both online and offline.

The cabinet also approved the construction of Integrated Data Centre, Integrated IT and Business Park, Recreation Centre and Skill Development University in Visakhapatnam with Rs 14,630 Crore and the project will be taken up by Adani Group. Minister Kannababu said that opposition TDP leaders have been spreading false news that the Adani Group had left the project. In fact the Chief Minister and State government had sanctioned the projects and signed an MoU by allocating 150 acres to create employment for 25,000 people. For the same project, the previous government had given 500 acres of land and signed for 6,000 jobs.

The cabinet also approved the land allocation to 16 new medical colleges in various districts. Land was allotted to the Andhra Cricket Association on 33 year lease for setting up cricket stadiums at Srikakulam and Kadapa districts. He said that the ban on gambling, online-offline bettings, use, and sale of drugs and narcotics across the State would be brought under the jurisdiction of the State Enforcement Bureau (SEB). The smuggling of red-sanders was assigned to SEB along with the Task Force, he said.
