Amaravati: In view of recent anti-Agnipath protests, several cities in Andhra Pradesh have been put on high alert following the large-scale violence and arson by anti-agnipath protestors at Secunderabad Railway station on Friday. Security has been tightened at several major railway stations in the state.

Special forces have also been deployed in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Tirupati. The state police chief Rajendranath Reddy on Saturday held a review meeting with the railway officials and police officials and assessed the security situation at the railway station.
