Another Telugu student dies in US

Another Telugu student has died in the US state of Ohio, India's Consulate in New York said on Friday. It said the US authorities are investigating the death to find out the cause of death. 

The deceased has been identified as Uma Satya Sai Gadde, who had enrolled at a university in Cleveland, Ohio. 

Taking to X, the Indian Consulate expressed its condolences to the bereaved family and assured of every possible assistance, including facilitating the transportation of Uma’s body to India. 

“All possible assistance is being extended, including to transport Mr Uma Gadde’s mortal remains to India at the earliest,” the post read.

Deeply saddened by the unfortunate demise of Mr. Uma Satya Sai Gadde, an Indian student in Cleveland, Ohio.

Police investigation is underway. @IndiainNewYork continues to remain in touch with the family in India.

This year there have been at least 10 deaths involving Indian or Indian-origin students in the US. Last month, Hyderabadi student Syed Mazahir Ali, was brutally attacked in Chicago, leaving him severely injured.
