Andhra Pradesh Ranks Sixth in Agri Sector: Sajjala

Tadepalli: A record 4.93 lakh people were given government jobs during YS Jagan regime in Andhra Pradesh, said Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy,  Advisor to the Government (Public Affairs). He said that the state stood as a role model during Covid pandemic by ensuring the safety of people from the infection. He added that despite the Covid situation, the economy of the state remained on track and performed well .

High priority for education and public health 

Spurred by the ease of doing business and development agenda of the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, in terms of per capita income, Andhra Pradesh state has moved to 9th place. During the Naidu-led regime, in terms of per capita income, the state was ranked 17th in the country, Sajjala remarked. The YSRCP regime, which is moving ahead with both development and public welfare, has ensured that the benefits of its welfare programmes reach every eligible beneficiary through direct benefit transfer mechanism. 

In 2019, the AP gross state domestic product (GSDP) was ranked 22nd, but after the YS Jagan government was formed, the GSDP managed to grab the top spot in 2021-22. The state government is also giving high priority to the education and public health sector. 

AP ranks 6th in agriculture sector 

Agriculture sector also got a stimulus during the YS Jagan rule. During the previous regime, the state was ranked 27 in the agri sector in the country while the growth rate was 6.5 percent. However, the situation has been turned around and the state has now grabbed 6h place in the agriculture sector and the current growth rate is 8 percent. While the state is placed at 9th position in terms of per capita income, the YSRCP leader informed. 

Sajjala said that the party will launch the ‘Why AP needs Jagan’ programme from Thursday. The party is making efforts to explain to the people through Grama/Ward Secretariats that development is possible through public welfare programmes, he added.
