Andhra Pradesh: Night Curfew Extended Till August 14

The Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday has decided to extend the night curfew in the State for another two weeks, continuing with the usual timings from 10 pm to 6 am. The night curfew sanctions will be in force till August 14.Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conducted a review meeting over the Corona pandemic situation in the State and directed the authorities to enforce a strict curfew to prevent the virus from further spreading. State authorities have warned that strict action would be taken if the curfew and COVID regulations are violated.

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy directed the authorities to complete the vaccination of teachers at the earliest. It was suggested to speed up the process in the wake of schools reopening from August 16. Health officials informed Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy that 43,38,000 doses of vaccine were allotted to private hospitals for May, June, and July months while only 5,24,347 doses were used. . They said the state government has administered 2,04,17,764 doses of vaccine 

The Chief Minister said he would write a letter to the central government seeking to reallocate those unused doses to the state government to expedite the vaccination process. The Chief Minister said to constitute a committee to study the COVID situation in various states and submit a report to change policies for effective containment of COVID.

As of Thursday, more than 2,107COVID cases were reported and 20 people died in the State.
