Vijayawada: Flood Levels Rise Again

Flood levels have risen by a foot, causing panic among residents of Singh Nagar, Ajit Nagar, and Bombay Colony, who have already been submerged in water for five days.

Vijayawada: Death Toll Rises Due to Floods

Fifteen more people have died in the floods. Fifteen bodies were found floating in the floodwaters yesterday, bringing the death toll to 47. Several bodies are still unaccounted for, and many have yet to be retrieved from the flooded areas. The morgue at the Vijayawada Government Hospital received 22 bodies by Wednesday evening, of which 11 were identified after post-mortem, while six were too decomposed to be recognized. The government has not provided ambulances for transporting bodies, forcing families to use private vehicles.

The government had promised to deliver all essentials directly to homes, but food and water are scarce unless residents wade through knee-deep water for a kilometer. Flood victims, who have lost everything, are left in distress, with damaged houses, belongings, and essential documents soaked in water. Many have expressed anger over the lack of government support and are now leaving Vijayawada, taking refuge in other villages or relatives' houses, as they lack trust in government services.

Eluru District: Kolleru Lake Flows Dangerously

Water flows across the national highway near Chinna Edlagadi, disrupting traffic. Police have warned pedestrians and two-wheeler riders to avoid the area as the water level is expected to rise further this evening.

Guntur:

Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna, Tenali constituency in-charge Annabattula Shivakumar, Vemuru in-charge Varikuti Ashok Babu, and YSR Congress Party District President Mandapati Seshagiri Rao inspected the crop damage in Tenali, Vemuru, and Repalle constituencies due to heavy rains and flooding.

Jurala Update - Mahbubnagar District:

The Jurala Project continues to receive flood inflows, with six gates opened. The inflow is at 85,000 cusecs, while the outflow is 77,739 cusecs. The full reservoir level is 318.516 meters, with the current level at 317.910 meters. The total water storage capacity is 9.657 TMC, while the current storage is 8.434 TMC. All five units of the Upper Jurala Hydroelectric Station are operational.

YSRCP MLA Distributes Food to Flood Victims

Under the leadership of Darshi MLA Buchepalli Siva Prasad Reddy, the YSRCP distributed 10,000 water bottles and 12 quintals of tamarind rice to the flood victims in Vijayawada's submerged areas.

Flood Situation Continues at Nizamsagar Project

At Nizamsagar Project, three gates have been lifted to release water. The inflow and outflow are both at 15,000 cusecs. The full reservoir level is 1,405 feet (17 TMC), and the current level is 1,404 feet (17 TMC).
