Anchor Shyamala Comments on CM Jagan & AP Politics

Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy shut down the detractors who had questioned the viability of the execution of an ambitious YSR Navaratnalu schemes. The chief minister has led by example and the CM Jagan’s victory in the next week’s election will be people’s victory, asserted Telugu actress and popular TV anchor Shyamala. 

In an exclusive interview with Sakshi, the TV anchor Shyamala spoke about a range of topics including her support to the ruling YSRCP, why she admired the chief minister YS Jagan and her future plans in politics. 

Great admirer of CM Jagan

I was born in Indrapalem village near Kakinada town of East Godavari district. I come from a Brahmin and a non-political background family. The political events and decisions had a profound impact on me during my formative years. I became a fan of YSRCP chief YS Jagan when he first undertook a padayatra in my native district. I am a keen observer and I like his simplicity and humour. 

My career plans brought me to Hyderabad where I started working for a private channel in the Uppal area of the city. I was saddened by the untimely demise of the former chief minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy in a tragic accident. Subsequently, I started taking more interest in YSR’s legacy. I started following the news of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s political struggle after the demise of his father. My husband and I have great admiration for him. Later, I decided to take the primary membership of the YSRCP party in the presence of the party chief YS Jagan. 

CM Jagan is a man of word!

Chief minister YS Jagan has proved that he’s a man of word – if he promises something, he will deliver it. Ruling YSRCP’s governance model is a template for the aspirants of future political leadership. People and the political rivals were cynical about the YSR Navaratnalu schemes promised by the YSRCP chief before the 2019 elections. The chief minister introduced the Village/Ward Volunteer system to executive the government’s welfare agenda without causing any inconvenience to the beneficiaries. 

Effective management of Covid crisis

At a time when the whole world was in the grip of Covid-19 pandemic, the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did not give up. He managed the health crisis and economic situation arising out of the global pandemic effectively. The locals I met in the remote villages told me that during the Covid-19 induced lockdown the YSRCP regime took care of the people when their relatives failed to help them.
