After Eyes, It's Heart For CBN As Interim Bail Expires Soon

Amaravati: As the date of return to Rajahmundry jail is approaching fast, the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, who was granted interim relief by the court, has found another reason to extend his bail in the multi-crore skill development scam case. The counsels of Naidu have submitted medical reports in Andhra Pradesh High Court which suggested the TDP leader has heart-related ailment. 

When every effort to get Naidu out of prison failed, the TDP leader’s family raised serious concern over his health conditions in Rajahmundry central jail, where he was lodged on judicial remand after his September 9 arrest. Following this, the jail authorities requested the Rajahmundry Government General Hospital (GGH) to send a team of doctors who examined the Opposition leader and said that he’s suffering from skin allergy. 

Since, skin allergy does not require hospitalisation, the TDP filed a house motion petition in the high court stating the Opposition leader had a cataract surgery to his left eye three months ago and now he’s to undergo the operation for right eye. After hearing the argument, the high court approved Naidu’s 4-weeks bail purely on medical grounds. The opposition leader successfully underwent the cataract surgery to his right eye and is making use of his out-of-jail time to strengthen the party base in the state. 

As the 4-weeks temporary bail is expiring soon and Naidu is bound to surrender to the prison officials, the TDP is desperately making attempts to keep its leader out of the jail as long as possible. Therefore, the opposition party’s legal team approached the high court claiming the 73-year-old Naidu has a cardiac problem and he needs bed rest. They have submitted medical reports to the court stating the opposition leader’s heart is enlarged due to irregular blood supply to it and his coronary arteries are clogged too. 

Not long ago, the TDP chief while addressing a public gathering in Nandikotkur mandal of Kurnool had claimed that age was just a number for him and he had higher energy levels than other political leaders. Now, with the term of conditional bail coming to an end, Naidu is showing excuses of ill-health to avoid jail.
