Is it Endgame For Bhuma's Political Career?
Bhuma family, which had a once foothold over Nandyala and Allagadda constituencies, has lost its grip. Politically they became weaker in the district owing to their political blunders. Bhuma family switching over to TDP turned against them, opine political analysts.
Kurnool is one of the weakest districts for the TDP. In the past 20 years, the maximum number of Assembly seats TDP ever won was 4 MLAs from the district. Kurnool is the bastion of the ruling YSRCP and swept 14 Assembly seats in the 2019 elections. The surveys predict similar results for the TDP in the 2024 elections as well. As TDP has very little hope for the Allagadda constituency, it wants to allocate it to Janasena under the alliance. Considering that the Kapu and Balija communities have a strong presence in the Allagadda, TDP may offer this seat to Pawan Kalyan's party. If reports are to be believed, TDP's Bhuma Akhila Priya may have to lose her seat as part of the alliance.
Meanwhile, TDP is contemplating fielding Farooq from Nandyala as a substitute for Bhuma Brahmanada Reddy. It is already announced that Dharmavarapu Subba Reddy is the TDP's candidate for the Dhone Assembly constituency. However, Chandrababu hadn't confirmed Brahmananda Reddy's name for Nandyala. Naidu said he would take a call depending on the surveys.
The likes of BC Janardhan Reddy, KE Prabhakar and other political stalwarts in the district are strongly acting against the Bhuma family in the district. All these steps could be detrimental to the political career of the Bhuma family. It is expected to be the end game for the Bhuma family's political career in the district.
