13 Dies In Fatal Road Accident, CM Jagan Condoles and Assures Support

In a fatal road accident took place near Chikballapur in Karnataka, 13 persons died due to grievous injuries and one was severely injured and being treated at nearby Chikballapur hospital. All of them have been identified by the police as migrant labour native to Gorantla mandal of Sri Satyasai district of Andhra Pradesh. Chikballapur police officer Nagesh said that nine men, three women and a boy were among the dead. The unfortunate incident took place when a Tata Sumo vehicle carrying over 18 persons hit the tanker parked on the road. The accident took place in the wee hours at around 7 am on NH44 near Chikballapur. It is suspected that the accident took place due to the fog and also the Tata Sumo was said to be at high speed.

All the workers came to their homes for the Dussehra festival. The accident took place while they were returning to their work at Bengaluru's Hongasandra. As there was fog in the early morning, the driver was nervous and hit the parked tanker without noticing. As a result, five of the 14 people traveling in that vehicle died on the spot and 8 died while receiving treatment at the Chikballapur hospital. Another is in critical condition. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

CM YS Condoles Berevead Families

AP CM YS Jagan has responded over the unfortunate incident. He expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the vicitims died in the road accident. CM Jagan assured that AP government would standby the victims and their families. He said the administration is doing its best to provide best medical facility for the seriously injured person.
