A Railway Porter Cracks Kerala Public Service Commission Exam Using Free Wi-Fi At The Station
Sreenath, a porter at the Ernakulam railway station in Kerala cracked the written examination conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission for the post of Village Field Assistant. With this he is only a step away from becoming a government servant under the Land Revenue Department.
Sreenath who has been attempting the exam from four years has made extensive use of free Wi-Fi provided at the station along the course of his study in this year’s attempt. He was able to download tons of practice question papers and attend online examinations, at a comfortable speed of 20-40 MBPS. “I have appeared thrice for the exam and this is the first time I used the Wi-Fi at the station. I put on my earphones and listen to the study material as I carry the luggage or solve questionnaires in my mind. This way I can study while I work. I revise all my work at night when I get free time,” Sreenath said
While most people use Wi-Fi services only to download movies, songs, or simply for chats, Sreenath has put it to a good use. The station’s free Wi-Fi service presented him with an opportunity that he never realised he had.
