Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was forced to sit out during a meeting between BJP President Amit Shah and Shivasena supremo Uddhav Thackeray that took place at the latter’s residence Matoshree in Mumbai on Wednesday. Amit Shah recently embarked upon Sampark for Samarthan (contact for support) campaign as a run up to next year's polls and as an attempt to strike a chord with Sena, met Uddhav Thackeray yesterday.
According to sources, the meeting took place on the second floor, Fadnavis was made to sit and wait on the ground floor for around two hours. Even after the meeting, the Shiv Sena sent clear indications of fighting the upcoming general elections on its own through its mouth piece “Saamana”. The Shiva Sena, which partnered with the BJP Government after the 2014 elections is believed to be upset with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Relations turned even soar after the Palgarh bypoll where it had to face a defeat at the hands of BJP.
