Can Kaala Repeat Basha Magic for Rajinikanth

Rajinikanth - Sakshi Post

Superstar Rajinikanth's Baasha is one of the superhit films in his career. It is also one of the most talked about films as it portrayed Rajini in a never before seen avatar. He was seen as the don and was considered a cult film given its genre. After that, Rajini did many movies but all of them just did decent business at the box office. Basha was released in 1995 but it is an all-time superhit film at the box office. If you see Rajinikanth's last two films-Lingaa and Kabali, both of them failed miserably at the box office.

Baasha is also a gangster film where his dialogues and style is still being imitated by his fans and also adopted in several other Tamil films. In a day's time, Rajini's most anticipated film Kaala will open in theatres. As earlier said, Kaala is a gangster drama where Rajini will be seen playing the Don of Dharavi. In one of the Kaala posters, Rajinikanth is seen dressed in a black kutra and mundu. The picture and his signature style dressing has clicked and created an impact in the minds of movir buffs. It is yet to be seen how powerful Kaala dialogues will be in the film.

Rajinikanth who has faced failure back to back failures has pinned huge hopes on this film. Latest question doing the rounds is If Kaala can repeat the success magic of Basha at the box office. If Kaala does business like Basha then it would be a great relief to Rajinikanth as well as his fans. Not just that it will also be a huge boost to his political career. It is being said that a few dialogues in the movie have political overtones keeping in mind Rajini's political career. So it remains to be seen if it helps at all.

Kaala is directed by Pa. Ranjith and is produced by Rajinikanth’s son-in-law Dhanush K Raja under the banner of Wunderbar Films. Kaala will be released as dubbed versions in Telugu and Hindi on June 7. The music has been composed by Santhosh Narayanan.
