UPSC Aspirant Kills Himself After Being Denied Entry To Exam

New Delhi: A 28-year-old civil services aspirant committed suicide after he was denied entry to the examination hall for the preliminary test on Sunday since he didn't reach the centre, police said on Monday.

Varun Chandran committed suicide on Sunday evening by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in his rented room in Rajendra Nagar area of central Delhi, a senior police officer said. "The suicide note revealed that he had reached the examination centre after closure of entry. Being late, he was refused entry. That is why he committed suicide," the official said. Chandran had gone to appear for the exam at Sarvodya Bal Vidyalaya at Kaseruwalan in Paharganj. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducted this year's Civil Services Preliminary Exam on Sunday at various test centres across the country. (IANS)
